Sego Canyon Pictographs

Located north of Thompson Springs, Utah is Sego Canyon, also known as Book Cliffs and Thompson Wash. This location provides not only a peek at prehistoric rock-art, but also the remains of the old coal town of Sego. Sego Canyon contains three culturally distinct styles of rock art: Fremont, Ute and Barrier-style.

Backbone Trail, Santa Monica Mountains

The Backbone Trail is the continuous 67-mile trail across the mountains, from Will Rogers State Historic Park to Point Mugu State Park, with 44 miles within LA County. The trail spans across ridgelines and canyons across the “backbone” of the Santa Monica Mountains.

Mission Point

Mission Peak

Mission Point, better known as “Mission Peak” to locals, is a spur of Oat Mountain. It is 2,771 ft (845 m) high. In Los Angeles County, Southern California, it is the second highest peak of the Santa Susana Mountains after Oat Mountain.
